Stunning Custom Tiny Reveals a Walk-Through Bathroom and a Main-Floor Dressing Room

We are fortunate to live in a time when a forever home can be delivered to our preferred location fully packed and ready for residential bliss throughout the year. The Harbour Seal is one of the most impressive 30-foot (9.1 meters) tiny homes ever built – it’s not just about the fabulous layout but finely-tuned customization that seems to bring this home to life.

It was a bold decision to have a new home built from scratch during the pandemic, but the couple who now owns the Harbour Seal knew exactly what they wanted. By December 2021, the gorgeous Harbour Seal arrived safely at its destined location on the Central Oregon Coast.

The location itself had a significant impact on this home’s build and personality. On the one hand, it had to be reliable and equipped to withstand the region’s typical weather conditions, starting with top-notch insulation and all the way to sturdy tile and flooring.

On the other hand, the unique coastal beauty was reflected in the custom artwork that elevated the home’s style – an adorable placard with a smiling harbor seal and an intricate loft railing displaying an ocean landscape with the fun addition of a hiking Sasquatch. Both artworks were custom-made by local artisan Wroughtenart.

These beautiful details only added to the Harbour Seal’s unique charm and flawless configuration with two loft rooms, a large kitchen, a cozy living area, and a surprisingly big bathroom next to a separate dressing room. The Rewild Homes team took full advantage of the overall length to ramp up functionality. It’s rare to find a tiny house in this size category with both a full U-shaped kitchen and a walk-through bathroom.

The kitchen takes up almost half of the ground-floor space. The U-shaped layout also allows it to include multiple windows that bring in light from all sides. The result is an ultra-luminous, spacious kitchen where cooking becomes fun.

Instead of the typical lounge at one of the ends, the Harbour Seal invites guests to relax on a large, L-shaped sofa sitting at the bottom of the staircase, between the kitchen and the bathroom. The sofa itself is placed between the wide front doors and an oversized window, which ensures abundant natural light and the best views. There’s also plenty of room for additional furniture items and storage solutions.

The beautiful staircase leads to the bigger loft, which acts as the master bedroom. The double bed is surrounded by windows, which makes this loft room anything but dark and isolated. Plus, the custom railing adds privacy without obstructing views, which enhances the seamless flow throughout the house. This beautiful bedroom has nothing in common with the tight, dark loft rooms that many people hate. It doesn’t just exude a sense of openness and spaciousness; it really is as comfortable and welcoming as a master bedroom should be.

Although smaller, the second loft that’s above the kitchen can also be turned into a bedroom, a more informal one. It’s basic compared to the main loft but still useful for extra accommodation or storage. It’s accessed via a ladder, and it comes with a simple metallic handrail and a small window.

Bathrooms are usually the least interesting part of a tiny house, but not this time. This incredible bathroom has it all – a full-size, all-glass shower cabin, a conventional toilet, a washer/dryer, and a beautiful linen closet. A vintage mirror and multiple shelves complement the beauty of the rustic-style vanity, while large windows keep this walk-through bathroom well-ventilated and bathed in natural light.

Another unexpected feature is the private dressing room. It’s basically an oversized closet with a standing mirror, but it has the advantage of being separate from the rest of the house, as well as being on the ground floor, which means it’s easy to access.

Of course, it’s primarily a versatile space that could also be used for additional, separate storage if that’s the case. However, this 30-foot tiny does come with several storage solutions, including the space underneath the built-in sofa and the hidden drawers integrated into the main staircase.

The owners helped pick everything from the exterior wood (Cedar) to the flooring, tile, and countertops, and everything was done via video without them actually being at the building site. The appliances included a full-size fridge and a full-size range, both running on propane. Propane also powered the on-demand water heater. Having such a generously sized kitchen and bathroom meant there was enough room for full-size appliances without restricting the overall movement flow in any way.

The Harbour Seal‘s red-framed door hints at the fun spirit and artistic vibe inside. This is yet another well-crafted Rewild Homes dwelling that turned customization into art. It also proves once more that ingenious design and top-quality craftsmanship can turn even the smallest house on wheels into someone’s “forever home.”
